Another Studio Artist tempoal scan tracker experiment. I alway shoot video sequences out of a moving car with a pocket video camera when we're driving around to use as source material for different temporal processing experiments.
Depending on the directions people and the car and the scan tracker aperture movement are moving in you can extend or contract object movement (you can see both effects going on in this image). Plus it helps document all kinds of different Hawaiian localisms and oddities you run into on a daily basis.

Another Studio Artist scan tracker experiment working with converting video footage into a static image. This time i'm messing with the scan direction and aperture to screw around with reality (as opposed to yesterday's post which builds a normal panorama image). So it ends up being more of a freezing movement over a limited period for time image.

Static panorama image generated from a video pan in the parking lot of Whole Foods in Kahului. I used the Studio Artist temporal scan tracker. I'm tracking the direction of the pan as opposed to doing anything fancy to alternate reality (like reverse or perpendicular scan directions).

Twenty seconds of video camera movement compressed into a single static image. The video was taken while driving around the Haiku Cannery parking lot from the side window of a moving car. It was then processed with the Studio Artist temporal scan tracker to generate the static time overview image.

Slit scan image generated while waiting around at the airport. This was generated using a Z1 pocket video camera, then processing the static camera video footage using Studio Artist 4 with a vertical slit scan using a temporal image operation effect.

Some new procedural imagery generated as by products of some recent daily effect blog posts i've been working on. It all starts with putting together a fairly simple IO routing for a MSG effect, and then using directed evolution to build the overall effect complexity.

All of the recent directed evolution experiments with MSG presets are using the same simple processor configuration setups used in my recent swap tutorials. What's cool about mSG is that you can create an unlimited variety of different kinds of abstract procedural imagery, as well as source or video processing effect.

Visualization of foot traffic while waiting around at the airport. This used a vertical slit scan of some video footage taken with a static camera (no camera movement). The processing was done with the temporal scan tracker in Studio Artist 4.

A still frame from a test animation made using temporal generators and MSG in Studio Artist 4. The movement in the animation is all generated from the time based temporal generator oscillators attached to editable MSG parameters.

This started with a fairly long video clip taken while driving through the Haiku Cannery parking lot. I used the temporal scan tracker to generate an overview of about 30 seconds of movement while driving in a car, so the static photo is kind of like a temporal overview.

Shave Ice place on the road to Hanna. The image was generated from a static section of video footage processed with a temporal image processing effect in Studio Artist 4. The camera wobble movement is picked up by the temporal processing to generate the atmospheric effect in the image.

Slitscan of the back room of Flatbread Pizza in Paia. The slitscan panorama was generated from a pocket video pan using the temporal Scan Tracker in Studio Artist 4.
Flatbread Pizza is really awesome. They make their own nitrate free free range organic pepperoni, it's the only pepperoni pizza i've ever had that isn't greasy.

Procedural image generated in a directed evolution session in the Studio Artist 4 Evolution Editor. A little additional post processing to add the waver effect. These are all from some work i've been doing recently for different MSG Editing tutorials on the Studio Artist daily effects blog.

More stack filtering processing of 'ruins porn' imagery.
This whole 'ruins porn' series got me thinking of how to try and visually score WMF's 'Bombay Garbage Truck' track from the Sodaigomi cd. So i've been slowly building up a set of appropriate imagery for stack filtering experiments. More on that ongoing project in the future.
