Since we are cleaning up Color Gradient Mapping, why not dive into Color Palette Mapping as well.  I'm really starting to sense that these 'old school' algorithms can be reworked in new ways to greatly extend their range of potential visual effects.  Denoise is now in Color Palette Map IpOp.

ReThink Color Gradient Mapping

 

Let's approach the whole concept of color gradient mapping in a completely different way by using geodesic flow derived off of vectors.

First one was prototyped using V5.5 features in a long PASeq. I added some new feature options to the old standby Color Gradient Map IpOp effect so that you can just do it directly there now in a single action step.

Random 9 index color palette used to build a color gradient. Sorted by luminance and hue with L and H index mapping using Color Gradient IpOp geodesic algorithm option blended together in PASeq.

Color Gradient Denoiser

 

Added denoising options to the Color Gradient Map IpOp effect. Hue mapped a 9 index random palette into the source color gradient and then use the source image hue for index mapping.

Fixed the color pass through issue with IpOp embedded bezier path start generator in paint synthesizer.

Using an IpOp screening effect that color palette maps as one of its options. The color effect output of the IpOp effect can now be used properly as the paint synthesizer coloring if the path color pass-through is turned on in Paint Color Source control panel.

Last frame issue for embedded bezier path paint synth auto-generation is fixed.

Hand Drawn Auto-KeyFrame Test


Adding some new features to take hand drawn sketches and convert them into self-animating keyframe animation. Drawing with the mouse does suck, but trying to use it as a feature in this particular example.

I did not test sequential key-framing in V5.5.  Just tried it, still works.  There are some features we could add to make it better in pre-V6, so i'll look into that.
