Southbank Bridge
360 degree video pan taken on a bridge in Southbank in Melbourne processed into a static image using the temporal scan tracker with more traditional slit scan settings.

Beach Rocks StackFilter
I made a set of driftwood and beach rock movie brushes recently for some Studio Artist tutorials. This image was generated by stack filtering using the beach rock movie brush as the source movie for the temporal image processing used to create the stack filtering effect. I think the rock movie brush works better for textural image generation, while the driftwood movie makes for more interesting visual content in the stackfiltering output.

Graffiti Dance
I was working on some new tutorials for working with movie brushes in Studio Artist's paint synthesizer, and this is a test image i didn't use for the tutorial, but kind of liked so i'm posting it here. It's generated with a grid scan with single movie frame nibs ( as opposed to path start regionization) , but with a long path length rather than a path length of 1 for a single paint nib per grid position, so it's very different than the other examples in the 3.5 Graffiti Brush paint category it's derived from. The power of some simple parameter editing in Studio Artist.

New Time Bend Approach
Trying something a little different here. It's all based on some video footage including a pan associated with driving into Paia. But it mixes two different time slices into the same panorama, which actually seems to work pretty well as a new approach to this effect.
Like most new ideas, it started out as a mistake, but then when i realized what was going on i liked it better than the correct approach to building the image.

Black Swan
Reworking a promo shot from the movie Black Swan. There's been a lot of discussion on the Studio Artist forum recently about building new approaches to abstracting shapes in photos to make them more 'composed' and 'stylized' (as opposed to the more normal paint the physical photo approach). It's trying to get more into understanding abstraction processes that traditional painters who actually hand paint everything work through when developing their work. Not that this piece really achieves that, but it's from one experiment.

Sketchy Thoughts
Studio Artist user LiveArt was kind enough to post some custom paint presets that are of a sketchy nature recently on the Studio Artist User Forum preset sharing group. This is one example i generated while playing around with these new hand drawing paint synthesizer presets. You need Studio Artist 4.03 to work with them.

Space Filling Curve Abstractions
I recently posted some cool MSG presets on the Studio Artist User Forum preset sharing group that show off some approaches to building halftoning effects out of space filling curves (like the Hilbert curve and other such mathematical variations for those of you technically inclined). One example shown above.
You need a copy of Studio Artist 4 to use these new abstraction presets. And by using the Evolution Editor you can build a hundred thousand unique variations if you are so inclined.

Magic Spiro Symmetry
Working with the 'magical' magic spiro paint presets that are part of the new studio artist 4.03 paint preset collection available for download here. I've been doing a series of posts recently on the daily effects blog about using these to make dualmode paint animations. This is one example from an animation experiment i was working on recently.
