MSG Drifter

Studio Artist pre_V6 Gallery Show is running a GS Technique based on sampling what is currently in the Evolution Editor previews while at the same time working the interactive controls in the Evolution Editor to drive the ongoing MSG evolution process on a drifting journey through the MSG preset potential parameter space.

Generative AI driving the Evolution Editor controls includes GS working the new split pChain crossover algorithms, which are a powerful new way to evolve and mutate new MSG presets off of a MSG preset population (contents of the Evolution Editor preview cells).

An additional new feature as of today is a smart cleanup routine that checks all of the IO Port hookups for the processor chain and auto-edits it to eliminate any potential inconsistencies it finds in the underlying IO Port connections in the MSG preset.

Whether the smart cleanup is being used or not after split crossover influences the visual appearance of the resulting output, so its another manipulatable tool you can work with to help define your ongoing art strategy.

MSG Drifter Paint

Using the new Generative AI Paint option in Studio Artist pre_V6 Gallery Show that allows for MSG Brush Load in the Paint Synthesizer to be configured from the current contents of the Evolution Editor preview cells.  At the same time, the Generative AI is also self-steering the interactive controls in the Evolution Editor.  We've also got some new crossover Split pChain evolution going in the Evolution Editor.

The Drift refers to the generative ai steered drift through the MSG parameter space.  In some sense the boat is being steered by an idiot, but that leads to a fascinating very extended run of useful visual effects.  This kind of thing before would quickly run out to some uninteresting overly diverse or washed out part of parameter space.

MSG Evolution Gallery Show Integration

The generative ai in Studio Artist pre_V6 Gallery Show can now drive the Evolution Editor while Gallery Show is running a technique based off of the contents of the Evolution Editor previews.  Early days with what you can do with this, but still pretty slick.

The MSG GS Technique associated with above can also be Vectorizer embedded, so then the MSG output from Gallery Show is all vector based.

Sunny skies melting, melting

New findings, published Thursday in The Cryosphere, show that last summer’s record melt wasn’t just the result of extreme heat that turned the ice sheet liquid. Instead, bizarrely sunny skies actually locked in over the island.

In an interesting coincidence, that sounds exactly like the weather in Haiku on Maui in summer 2019. Which should maybe concern you as well since it's supposed to be essentially rain forest climate here on this part of the island.

He Aims to Please

Gallery Show aims to please. But sometime she (she, it) just can't help himself (herself, itself). Maybe it has to do with all of the current news Gallery Show is reading. It points him (her, it) in a certain direction. I tried to give Gallery Show some photos of clowns, because what could be more joyous that happy clown faces (ha,ha). But that somehow got mixed in with the imagery from that 10 part mini series remake of From Dusk till Dawn we were watching together and it came out looking all creepy.
And then things got even stranger, because Gallery Show started evolving. Pay attention people who keep dropping off pamphlets at my house that imply evolution doesn't exist. Because Gallery Show is indeed evolving. And its fascinating to watch in action. More on that development in tomorrow's post.

MSG Directed Evolution Work 3

All of the recent directed evolution experiments with MSG presets are using the same simple processor configuration setups used in my recent swap tutorials. What's cool about mSG is that you can create an unlimited variety of different kinds of abstract procedural imagery, as well as source or video processing effect.
