One Paint Action Step Dynamic Brush Experiment
Single paint action step that uses an intelligent dynamic brush paint synthesizer preset. I'm using a Transition Context to re-time the paint animation output as an experimental alternative to using a lower frame rate for the output. This output is totally painted in by the AI and associated visual modeling in the paint synthesizer, no source image mixing involved in this effect at all.

Dynamic Brush with Facial Feature Point Smart Start
Default paint synthesizer Regionize Dynamic Brush QuickEdit with Smart Start in Path Start set to FaceFeaturePoint.
Facial Feature Point Detector Bug is fixed
Dumb bug in the facial feature point detector is fixed now in V5.5.3. So we'll be doing one more build before the feature freeze for the release. Glad it is working again, since it is very useful, and can be accessed all of the place (where ever the other face detect options are).

Feature-Based Paint Tightening
More experiments using perceptual features in the source image to tighten up painting. I've got smart spread modulation on, and also some facial feature recognition i the auto-paint steps associated with this particular PASeq.

Paint Strategy
Working on some new paint action sequence (PASeq) presets for auto-painting in Studio Artist. This one is using some new Paint Brush Load features that let you combine multiple PBL techniques in a single paint preset. A very cool new feature.
I'm also using an interesting technique for setting up the Blanking buffer in the paint synthesizer prior to starting painting, using the Smart Contrast ip op. This helps build structure in the first large brush rough paint pass. Subsequent paint passes alternate low and high Paint Color Source luminance offsets to emphasis detail. Feature detection is then used to focus fine detail painting.

Cheers

This fell out of some experiments with automatic segmentation.
The real trick with sketches made by people as opposed to machines is that people can directly sketch the objects in a scene as opposed to sketching the pixels (which might be subjectively very different). While machine artists tend to fixate on representing the pixels. It's amazing how bad most segmentation algorithms are when you really stress test them.

Randomness and Form

This is an interesting image because the visual system is able to recognize the form of the head in all of the other visual clutter. Generated using the new gallery show features in Studio Artist 4.
