Rose Curve Vector Halftoner

Someone on the Studio Artist user forum asked about generating guilloche pattern halftone screening effects in Studio Artist.  There was a lot of discussion about this on our user forum around 10 years ago (give or take a few years). So i remember implementing some different approaches way back then.  I know you can generate hypotrochoid patterns in MSG (need to hunt those down for the discussion).  And i also remember implementing Rose Curves as MSG pattern generators.  You can embed MSG pattern generators in the paint synthesizer to drive painting. So above is a quick example showing that off for a vector paint that acts as an adaptive halftone screen while painting the Rose pattern.  You can of course evolve endless variations of the patterning in the Evolution Editor.  Fun stuff.

Different take on it that is less conventional guilloche patterning and more abstract.  Using visual model dropout in Path Application control panel here.

walkabout -test 4

This is using the static 'walkabout' text prompt (no key-framing) with the exact same Studio Artist gallery show MSG QuadMixer mutation output i used in the previous 'change' animation post feeding into the generative ai context.

Below is the Studio Artist gallery show session output i referred to above, that is being used to feed the generative ai context U-Net latent input.  The gallery show session was using the QuadMixer technique running a random walk through a 4 preset MSG parameter space mutation.

Gallery Show QuadMixer Session 2

Gallery Show QuadMixer Session

This is a gallery show session using the QuadMixer GS technique that is mutating MSG presets in a random walk through a 4 preset parameter space plane.  You can interactively work with the QuadMixer controls while gallery show is running, and you can see that in the animated session output below when i press the Load button to automatically reload the 4 presets at different points in the GS session.

Modern Primitivism

What i love about this whole art strategy is that you can see how if you develop it a little bit more with very strategic design of the MSG effects to put together harmonious patterning you could really start to control it.

Here i've used the paint synthesizer and an image folder background texture to build something similar without using gallery show.
You can use the paint synthesizer preset in a PASeq to build out more of what gallery show was doing.
Turning on an EBM (energy based model) digital paint feature lets you tighten it up if you want that.

MSG Stack Filtering 5

Stack filtering MSG imagery in gallery show using temporal image operation effects in Studio Artist.  Run through a transition context.  The original MSG key-frame animation is shown below.  The MSG keyframes were generated via live mutation exploration in the Evolution Editor.
So every frame in this movie is an image on the stack.  Stack filters take in multiple images to generate a single output image.  Gallery show can randomize the positioning within the stack being filtered.
