transformer 4

I added a new context menu command for PASeq action steps that lets you edit all of the keyframes associated with a given action step without blowing away the embedded bezier paths in the keys.  Its a great fast editing feature i've wanted for awhile now, great to have it in pre_V6 now.  I used it to fine tune the paint animation above.

Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) single path optimization paint animation.  Above is run on every frame.  Below is bezier embedded with 10 key-frames.  There is an issue when you try to build a TSP single path off of the internal bezier path start positions associated with interpolation of really small bezier paths in a PASeq.  Has to do with the raster path interpolation part of how that works when the raster path length is 1.  We really need to support single points in our bezier path frame to pull off a real fix for this.  I added a hack to pre_V6 to improve it (after wasting most of the day figuring out the issue), but you can still see some artifacts in the animation below associated with it.

Traveling Salesman Sketch Animation Experiment

Studio Artist V5.5 has a lot of different features one can use to build TSP (Traveling Salesman Problem) sketch effects. I setup a Paint Action Sequence (PASeq) to automatically build a single bezier path TSP Sketch of a series of key-framed movies in a Transition Context. I then used another Studio Artist feature to automatically derive colored regions (the Flat Color Regionize IpOp effects) while keyframe interpolating the single bezier curve sketch effects over time. And this is what i got. Super easy to try experiments like this in Studio Artist.

Smart Mass Bezier TSP Sketch Colorization

The title tells you everything you need to know about it.  In Studio Artist V5.5.5.

Focus

We use the Sketch Mass IpOp effect to auto-generate a set of stylized hatch sketches that are then turned into a TSP (Traveling Salesman Problem) continuous single bezier path sketch.  A thin vector paint preset is then used to paint in that single continuous bezier path into a white canvas.  The Flat Region Colorize IpOp effect is then used to auto-fill all of the individual flat colored pixel regions in the canvas.  I then use a sneaky trick where i stash the last frame output in the Style buffer so i can recursively add it to the output of the next frames Sketch Mass bezier path color fill in.

New TSP Approach

Inaugural image generated using a new approach to creating traveling Salesman Problem TSP style visual effects and drawings.  Which you can actually do today using Studio Artist V5.5.  And we're going to make it easier in V5.5.5.
