Zoom-In

Interesting MSG based procedural art image. Note the apollonian packing detail hidden in there. I also like the circles that look like zoom-in detail magnifiers. This is another image generated by stacking MSG processors into a single image channel and then color gradient mapping that image to get the final full color output.

Apollonian Structure

More tests while adding cast shadow lighting options to some MSG processors that generate flat regions. This is a stack of 2 different processors that generate shapes arranged with apollonian packing sampling.

Raised Apollonian Widget

MSG preset processed with cast shadow lighting PASeq preset. I made a new lighting PASeq that puts the darker objects on top rather than the lighter ones like the previous posts. The MSG preset is using some new features associated with apollonian close-packed sampling. The sampling in the MSG preset is also source image modulated. And there's some TSP optimization in there as well.

Adaptive Shape Photo Mosaic Idea

Adaptive photo mosaic idea, generated from new adaptive close packing options in the paint synthesizer. Using a movie brush for the mosaic imagery.

Close Packing Experiments

Everyone seems to like close packing imagery, so i've been adding some new MSG features to work with it. This very abstract source processing effect is running 3 different close packing vector textures into 3 different color channels.

Kind of a Weird One

Not my normal thing at all, but it popped out of some Studio Artist testing, so here it is. You could run with the idea of framed abstract imagery inserted inside of facial renditions i guess.

MSG Procedural Abstraction 2

Abstract image generated with MSG processors in Studio Artist 4. This one is using some of the apollonian packing processors to generate the textures.

Apollonian Packing Variations

Some new experiments mixing apollonian packing and TSP optimization in multiple stream channels to build MSG presets that generate abstract procedural imagery. The apollonian packing and the TSp optimization work together to generate an interesting pseudo-crystalline structure to the resulting textures.

I'm using the forceColorMap processor as the last step in the preset to color map the generated abstract texture field to an evolved color palette.

Directed Evolution MSG Experiments 2

More experiments with directed evolution of MSG processors in Studio Artist 4 to create abstract imagery. There's actually apollonian packing going on for the sampling points for the paths but it's not obvious since it hasn't been distance sorted. I added that feature after i generated these.

Apollonian Packing Abstractions 4

These started with MSG apollonian packing presets followed by some swap and add evolution to generate some additional complexity.

Apollonian Packing Abstractions 2

Apollonian packing used as a sampling pattern is actually pretty cool. Some more examples generated with MSG processors in Studio Artist 4.

TSP Sketch with Apollonian Packing

I've been playing around with apollonian packing and tried some experiments combining it with TSP (traveling salesman problem) sketch effects. This example was generated with a Studio Artist paint action sequence (PASeq) that has 2 different MSG presets in it.

Here's an example below of apollonian packing using a single MSG preset.

Hybrid TSP Sketch Experiment

A hybrid black and white sketch experiment. Created with TSP MSG processor and a new apollonian packing MSG processor.
