Don Ho's

Static panorama image generated from a video pan taken in front of Don Ho's bar in Aloha Tower Marketplace on Oahu.

Aloha Tower was particularly dead on the night when this was taken. It's a nice place to grab a bit to eat at sunset but it often seems like a ghost town unless a cruise ship or swarm of japanese tourists are passing through, which i guess is what keeps it going. Too bad, as the waterfront location is great.

King Street

This started with some video pan footage taken out the front window of a moving car on King Street in Honolulu during the holiday season when all the christmas lights are up. The source video footage was then processed with the Studio Artist temporal scan tracker to generate the final static image. I've got the controls setup to generate some visual stutter.

Honolulu Airport Night Shot

This static image encapsulates some motion seen in a video sequence shot with a zi8 camera at the Honolulu airport at night. The video footage was processed with the Studio Artist 4 temporal difference matte to generate a single static image.

Time Stretch

This started with a Flip video shot taken in Waikiki at night that was then processed with the Studio Artist temporal scan tracker to stretch time for the motion of the cable car in the video into a static image.

Waikiki Beach Nite Shot

This started with a 180 degree video pan using a Flip camera that was then processed via the Studio Artist temporal Scan Tracker into a static panorama. You always end up thinking Waikiki beach is a spit of land surrounded by water on both sides when looking at these 180 degree slit scan panoramas but that is not really the case. Tourism is down quite a bit here these days as the economy sinks into oblivion so things were pretty quiet as we showed some out of town friends the sights.
