Irregular Cell Photo Mosaic

Another photo mosaic experiment with a 16,000 frame movie brush of news photos. I'm using an irregular cell generating path start regionization option to build the adaptive irregular cell positioning for the movie brush mosaic layout.  All of these recent posts are using region fill as brush pen mode.

Large Frame Index Photo Mosaic

Another Studio Artist photo mosaic experiment with a large frame index movie brush. I'm using a graffiti movie brush, and using image processing brush load to re-colorize the individual movie frames on the fly as they are positioned.

Graffiti Faces

Trying out a photo mosaic approach that looks more like collage as opposed to tiled blocks. Also using random frame indexing for the movie brush, so the individual frames are colorized using image processing brush load functionality ion the Studio Artist paint synthesizer.

16,000 Frame Movie Brush

Another experiment with a 16,000 frame movie brush to build an adaptive photo mosaic in Studio Artist 4. Again, the trick is to use DiskLoad rather than PreLoad for the movie brush.

Large Frame Size Movie Brushes

I've been running some experiments recently with large frame size movie brushes for use in generated photo mosaics with Studio Artist 4. By large i mean over 10,000 frames.

I was told that you could not do it with problems, but that is incorrect. It works fine, you just need to make sure you use Disk Load rather than PreLoad for the MB Load Status control in the Brush Source control panel of the paint synthesizer. If you use PreLoad you are going to run out of memory. But that's not an issue for DiskLoad, and is the whole reason why that option is there.

You want to make sure you switch to DiskLoad before loading in the large frame count movie brush.

This was supposed to be a graffiti movie brush, but a photo of my wife's relatives snuck in there somehow and is very prominent in the dark hair regions, kind of funny.

Layer Composite Experiment

I usually don't use layer difference compositing, but it worked out well for this experiment with 2 hand painted layers. After flattening i added some additional edge feature painting.
