More Preset Randomization

I'm loving the new paint preset randomization features in Studio Artist 4. This was one of a series of images that fell out of a power evolution session.

Preset Randomization Symmetry

I've been playing around with the Studio Artist 4 paint synthesizer evolution controls lot recently. This was created by evolving paint presets in real time while running loop action. I tossed some symmetry effect on at the very end using interactive warp.

The approach i use is to load random presets into the paint patch memories, and then morph or mingle off of those in real time while loop action is running. I use the load random source image command link a lot as well.

Wood Block Print Effect

I was running some gallery show tests last night and this image fell out. It reminds me of a wood block print. I was using the 'surprise me' setting for the gallery show run and didn't have history recording on, so how it was made is kind of a mystery. It even has a black painted border, which was a nice bit of added serendipity. The joy of random preset manipulation. Gallery Show is a really cool Studio Artist 4 feature that has so much hidden potential.

Pleasant Surprise

I was fooling around with rapid paint synthesizer preset evolution in Studio Artist 4 and stumbled upon this effect. I've been adding some new evolution options in the paint evolution help browser page as command links. It will now auto-load random sets of factory presets in to the paint patch memories and then morph or mingle evolve off of those presets at the touch of a command link. You can also randomly move through source images as well, which is a great new addition to this style of working.

Revisiting the Texture Synthesizer

I tend to not go for the Texture Synthesizer to much these days, but recently i've been revisiting it for some movie and image processing effects. This example starts with the Studio Artist 4 Texture Synthesizer followed by some ip ops for cleanup and enhancement.

I've been trying out a variation of this effect for movie processing, so perhaps i'll post some examples of that at some point.

Symmetry Paint

I added a new feature to Studio Artist 4 that allows for live symmetry effects while painting. This was really envisioned for interactive painting so you see the symmetry happening in real time as you paint. But it's interesting to turn it on for auto-painting. I'm using it in a really abstract way in this image.
