This week in 'AI Illustrates the Story', we read chapter 37 of 'The Corona Virus Saga'. Illustrations are by CLIP Guided Diffusion.
You can learn a lot about an AI by how it illustrates a story.
The Corona Virus Saga - chapter 37
"Say his name. Say his name well."
The crowd lunged forward like a drunk reptile. Spilling down the street devouring everything in it’s path.
"Remember his name. Remember his name well."
Muscle guys in frat clothes turned over SUV’s and cop cars.
Setting them on fire with bic lighters and cans of sterno.
Sterno, the hobos friend. And no better way to get her going than to use a bic lighter, an american lighter, made in Shelton Connecticut by undocumented immigrants. An american product. A remnant of our once proud past.
Cable news outlets were babbling some half baked story about how recent events showcased the true american dream, the right to protest. And to bear arms while protesting as long as you were white.
But it was all written down there in the constitution. American’s god given right to bitch and moan. About anything and everything. And to do it in the form of social protest. Down public streets and throughways. Across gentry and park land alike. Americans could stand together and make a noise.
"Honor his name. Honor his name well."
Foreign news outlets had a different perspective.
The US is tearing itself apart. The strap on Australia's Sky News on Monday morning summarized it as "Fire and fury". That was Ronald Rrump's threat against North Korea three years ago. Yet today Kim Jong-un continues to build his weapons and it is the US suffering fire and fury. Entirely self-inflicted.
China's Communist Party need not say a word. But it can't help itself. America is drinking "a glass of bitter wine brewed by the US itself", China Central TV called it. Another state propaganda organ, The Global Times, headlined: "US double standards on domestic riots and Hong Kong turmoil mocked on Chinese internet."
Hey. Our bitter wine is the best. Some say the best ever made by anyone. Perhaps even better. At least that’s what people tell me. So don’t go mocking our bitter wine, or we will see you in court. And if there is anything america can still do better than anyone else, it’s sue the pants off of you in court.
These protesters just want what’s best for everyone. To join close. To breath in each others scent. To aerosolize particles and spray them out our mouths at one another in glorious communion. We all want to get closer. To get closer to the StarGate.
