A friend of mine who is a film editor / educator suggested using a storyline based on Joseph Campbell's concept of the monomyth, which i guess is taught in film school as a template for screen writing. In narratology, and comparative mythology, the hero's journey, or the monomyth, is the common template of stories that involve a hero who goes on an adventure, is victorious in a decisive crisis, and comes home changed or transformed. Campbell describes 17 stages of the monomyth. I liberally interpreted those into a meta story line, and ran it with a few different styles.
The hero is supposed to return with a 'treasure' in the end, which is kind of amusing when you run the script with 'world's cutest animal' for the style.
