Jerry Saltz has some words of wisdom for our new world order.
Creativity is a survival strategy.
You don't need fancy supplies.
Be willing to be embarrassed.
There is no wasted time.
Draw it out.

Here is the art strategy i used for the image in this post.
I used the Studio Artist Mass Abstractor image operation effect to create a black and white abstraction of the source image. I then used the 'Reinitialize' and 'DefaultFill Vectorizer Regionize Edit' paint synth macro edit commands to quickly configure the paint synthesizer for a path start regionize paint effect. But i wanted to use the Mass Abstractor output for my regions as opposed to the Vectorizer. So i changed the Path Start Generator to 'Flat Region Canvas as Regions' since by Mass Abstractor effect output was already sitting in the canvas. I then pressed Action, and all of my individual Mass Abstractor regions were auto-painted in as flat colored regions.
Used some different finishing techniques after that to add some additional subtle detail. And paint synthesizer again for the black border.
